In today’s episode, Mitch sat down with Katie Rohm of Mutual of Omaha Mortgage. Katie is not only well-versed in loan counseling with her clients, but also with the ins and outs of real estate and closing deals because she started her career in loan origination and operations. With her full finance background, she is able to foresee issues clients may not be aware of due to her experience in both the processing and closing sides of a loan. First time home buyers are her most frequent clients, and people whose line of work involves some sort of trade. She relishes the opportunity of being her client’s trusted advisor for a lifetime so that when they are ready to buy their next home, they will call her for assistance.In her self-generated business, Katie has seen marketing success in partnering with real estate agents and keeping track of which clients are referring her to friends and family. She talked about the struggles that inevitably come with starting a new business in which her own name is the brand and how to effectively capture leads. Katie is still looking to incorporate more social media into her marketing and has specific 2020 goals to further her business.
