Umbalin & Oblivion

Episode 14: Puns, Plans, & Prayers

Listen Later

In case you missed it in our last session, the party arrived back at Rejlaz Rhekōlb to find things oddly calm. Bursting into the king’s audience chamber (with Ahnen doing the doorcrashing), they found a pleasant dinner taking place with Jōlahr entertaining faces both new and familiar.

Conversations ensued with only occasionally raised voices. Over a dozen Zōrheg and many upper-tier Kisstyral had attacked the palace directly, scaling the sheer cliffs on the sea-facing side of the grounds. They had come for Jōlahr while he strolled alone among the Queen’s Glade, but Ashtakrrok had prepared and the ingenious plans managed to delay the Zōrheg long enough for aid to arrive from the palace. However, that inventive Nibolian sustained grievous injuries in the battle. On the other hand, the king’s defenders also managed to defeat three Zōrheg during the fray, their bodies crumpling and crunching up into the horrid bands that encircled their heads. All that remained were those pointed halos.

These relics brought about the aforementioned raised voices as you might expect and the main session left off with many words left unsaid, so we had a set of bonus sessions for those needed 1:1 conversations. As to not unduly influence the table, I’ll let those episodes speak for themselves, as each of them ended with our party heading into the audience chamber to reconvene and make their collective way over to the Temple of Zerhōss to bring Ashtakrrok into the discussion of next steps. And with that, you’re caught up for today’s episode of Umbalin & Oblivion.
