When we think of serial killers, for many of us there are a few names that pop into our heads immediately. One of the most infamous serial killers is Jack the Ripper who operated in the Whitechapel area of London in the late 1880s. His crimes were so gruesome that they caught the attention of people across the world, even here in the United States. Even today we can see evidence of his horrific legacy in the form of movies, books and TV shows which directly or indirectly lead back to Jack the Ripper. But here in the United States, we have our own ripper, yet despite the grisly nature of his crimes and a long list of victims, many people in the US today have never even heard of him.
