Welcome to the 14th episode of Let’s Unpack That! We’re two friends, Cal and Chevall, who decided to start a podcast where we analyze media under a critical, appreciative lens. To start, we’re reading the legendary manga Berserk together for the first time and recording our reactions, analysis and BSing about the manga from the late Kentaro Miura, who died May 6, 2021 at the age of 54.
This week, Cal and Chevall talk about a big milestone for Cal: getting married! After getting a little gushy the two discuss an interview conducted with Miura in 2000 on MangaBrog, where he discusses his influences and art style. We finally learn: is Berserk a shoujo?
Then we get back to The Band of the Hawk leading a hunt in Wyndham, where Griffith is potentially in danger of being killed by the jealous Count Julius.
