That's My Book

EPISODE #14 WITH LINDA FULKERSON

Listen Later

Meet Linda Fulkerson, author, podcaster, web designer, and my very good friend. I think you’ll enjoy learning more about her. This was supposed to go on Monday, but due to internet failure it is a little late.
Linda Fulkerson has two published novels: DEAD BROKE (Book One of the River Valley Mysteries series) and an historical romance, Wings of the Dawn. She is also the author of The Prodigal Daughter: Hope for Runaway Christians and Those Who Await Their Return(2003, Petit Jean Press) and Ordinary Girl, Extraordinary Purpose: LIfe Lessons from the Book of Esther (2017). Linda has written several marketing-related books and a series of coloring books for writers. All her books are available at Amazon.com.
Linda is a blog and marketing coach, award-winning photographer, and is the former online editor and director of digital services for the Killeen Daily Herald. She is a former sports writer for the Petit Jean Country Headlight. Linda is a past finalist in the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) Genesis contest, taking second-place in the Young Adult category. She served as ACFW Arkansas Area Coordinator for four years and was recently elected to serve as the 2018 president of the Arkansas Chapter of ACFW. She is a CLASSeminar graduate and conducts workshops on blogging, marketing, and website development. Linda is the owner of DLF Digital Services LLC in Morrilton, Arkansas.
She and her husband, Don, have four adult children and eight grandchildren. They live with their two dachshunds down a country road in central Arkansas.

Adult coloring books are popular for a lot of reasons — coloring is a stress-free, therapeutic activity. We loved to color when we were kids, so why not enjoy it as grown ups?
And coloring for adults isn’t all fun and games — it actually increases frontal lobe brain activity, allowing us to better focus. Studies of all types are popping up, announcing other benefits of coloring for adults, including increasing creativity, decreasing stress, enhancing productivity, and more.
As writers, we need to focus, right? So, if the benefits of coloring for adults include both increased creativity and focus, why not combine coloring with brainstorming?
That’s exactly what I’ve done with my new coloring books for writers series.
In addition to inspirational/motivational writing quotes, The Coloring Book for Writers Volume I features coloring sheets plus brainstorming exercises to spark your creativity.
How does it work?
Simply read one of the brainstorming exercises. While you’re brainstorming, color one of the sheets, then jot down notes about the ideas you come up with. It’s that easy — and, it’s that fun!
