Carolyn Cocca is an associate professor in the department of politics, economics and law at the State University of New York (SUNY), college at Old Westbury and author of the Eisner Nominated book Superwomen: Gender, Power, and Representation. The book examines the history, changing representation, and fan-reception of Wonder Woman, Barbara Gordon, Padme, Leia, and Jaina from Star Wars, the ladies of the X-Men, Buffy, and Captain and Ms. Marvel.
