This was the 17th Annual Hot Rod Happening and Food Drive at Performance Plus Tires in Long Beach, CA. This is the perfect "small show, community-driven" event for locals and patrons of this business establishment to help kick off the season of giving to others in need. Pallets of shrink wrapped food items were in the parking lot behind the variety of muscle cars, hot rods, trucks, customs, late model cars and even a few race cars. Coffee, donuts and a local band comprised of high school kids playing brass, electric guitars, and drums in the well-known tire shop changed the whole mood of a typical Sunday morning. Instead of balancing tires, the PP crew were hustling boxes, organizing production lines and greeting everyone with a handshake and a "thanks for coming out." Some times that is all it takes for someone like us to go back next year.  It's no wonder we purchase tires from these guys for our 1960's Detroit steel. I almost forgot to mention Chip Foose coming out as well. He was onsite to chat and sign autographs. Talk about local.
