Today's guest on the podcast is Gabriel from the band APES.

Formed in the early 2010s in Quebec City (Canada), APES is renowned for their distinctive fusion of grindcore, black metal, and hardcore. The band was conceived with a singular purpose: to craft heavy and unapologetically relentless music, breaking down all barriers in their path.

Their album 'Penitence', released last year, was my personal favourite album of the year, an immensely powerful record to listen to so to have them on the podcast is a true pleasure.

I'll be chatting with Gabriel about the making of Penitence, from the themes and ideas the album explores, creating the sound of the album and the how the striking artwork was created. We'll of course be talking about Extreme music, especially the incredible music coming out of Canada at the moment!
