BMS Oh Canada! BMS 10th Year Anniversary!During this segment of BMS you will hear a selection of tracks from the Canadian Urban Music scene released over the years. Some of these recordings were from major label signings while others were released and promoted independently. Canada like many countries has a vibrant music scene but, to make it in the “music business” (10% Music/90% Business) has always been a struggle for most. Persistence, talent, timing, and plain old fashion luck have always seemed to be the key factors to success. This is just a tiny slice of the struggle over the past couple of decades. From hip hop to reggae, these are artists that I have either personally worked with, crossed paths with, or admired from afar. Many (too much to mention) have come before them to pave a path to breaking rhythm-based music into the mainstream. I would like to thank all the musicians, writers, promoters, mom & pop retailers, and the independent media that all played a part in trying to get to the next level.
