Designer and founder, Harleen Kaur Chhabra, graduated with a degree in Art and Costume Design and spent several years working with amazing teams at various fashion labels in New York. Her desire to design garments that were not only inspired by her American, Punjabi, and Thai heritage but also versatile, comfortable and ethically produced gave rise to Harleen Kaur. The unique aesthetic the brand offers ranges from comfortable cotton kurtas and floral satin lehengas to intricate jacquard sherwanis and metallic embroidered gowns. Horrified by stories of thousands of workers in overseas factories dying from preventable fires and building collapses and being paid next-to-nothing for the work they do, ensuring the well-being and safety of anyone creating garments for the brand was of the utmost importance for Harleen. By working with local factories in New York, Harleen is able to immerse herself in every step of the design and production process while ensuring that the factories she uses pay fair wages and provide a safe working environment.
