Episode 15: How Leaders Become the System

Listen Later

In this episode of Faith • Fire • Frequency, we explore one of the most uncomfortable truths in leadership.

Most leaders don't intentionally become the system. They earn it. Not because they're controlling or arrogant, but because they care. Because they're capable, reliable, and people trust them.

And somewhere along the way, being trusted stops being leadership and starts becoming a trap.

What begins as excellence quietly becomes armor. What begins as support can become interference. What begins as leadership slowly becomes identity. And before they even realize it's happening, leaders wake up exhausted, wondering why everything still depends on them and why they no longer recognize themselves.

In this episode, we go beneath the surface of leadership and into the deeper patterns that shape how we live, lead, trust, and relate to ourselves. We explore why "I can just do it myself" may be more confession than productivity, why rescuing people can interrupt their becoming, and why so many leaders unknowingly inherit patterns they never stop to question.

But more than anything, we explore what happens when we forget who we were before we became everything everyone else needed.

Because leadership is a role. It was never supposed to become your identity. And perhaps you've been trying to carry something you were never meant to hold.

Maybe that's why you're tired.
