Dr. Lamia Youseff is a computer scientist, a technology executive and a speaker and author, who has held leadership positions in Fortune-10 (Apple, Google, Microsoft and Facebook) companies and regularly speaks on AI/ML, cloud computing, digital transformation and management leadership around the globe. She has tens of peer-reviewed publications, articles, several patents, and book chapters, as well as 5K+ academic citations.
Dr. Youseff earned her Ph.D. in computer science from UCSB before joining MIT as a Research Scientist, where she continues to be an affiliate with MIT CSAIL. She also holds a Master's degree in Business Management Sciences from Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB). In 2011, she joined Google Cloud as engineer #12 to build and scale Google Cloud -- today a $26+ billion business. She then joined Microsoft Azure to work with F500 large-scale enterprise customers to migrate to the cloud, before joining Facebook to lead the ML platform program team (FBLearner), used by 5000+ ML engineers across Facebook products. Recently, she built a new large organization at Apple for Ads ML platform/Infra, MLops and Serving. Today, Dr. Youseff is a visiting research scientist at Stanford and is regularly a guest lecturer at Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) on digital transformation, Change Management and AI/ML.
