THE CRUCIFIXION EVENTS of JESUS: Judas betrayed Jesus. Jesus was arrested by the chief priests. He was brought before the religious leaders and they could not find him guilty of anything. Caiaphas the chief priest asked Jesus if he was the Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus said yes, he was. They sentenced Jesus to death for blasphemy for saying that and they began to beat him and spit on him. Peter disowned Jesus 3 times as Jesus said he would. Judas hangs himself over guilt of betraying Jesus. Jesus is questioned by Pilate and Pilate did not find him guilty of anything. The crowd demands Barbbas get released in place of Jesus and Jesus be crucified. Pilate hands innocent Jesus over to be crucified to appease the angry crowd. Jesus is flogged and the governor's soldiers abuse him greatly. Jesus is crucified between two rebels. The crowd taunts Jesus to come off the cross if he is really the Son of God. Jesus dies on the cross to pay for the sins of the world. At that moment there was an earthquake, the curtain in the temple was torn in two, and holy people came back to life, came out of their tombs and walked around Jerusalem.
