So, while researching for this episode I came across an actor named Matthew Hoffman who is in no way shape or form the same as the Matthew Hoffman I am talking about today. Matthew Hoffman is a man from Ohio who was found guilty of holding a 13-year-old girl hostage after murdering her family and stuffing their dismembered bodies into a hollowed-out tree. Initially, Hoffman just wanted to find a home to rob, however, this is clearly not how this case ended. Hoffman killed Tina Hermann, her 11-year-old son Kody Maynard, and her friend and neighbor Stephanie Sprang. He had also kidnapped Herrmann’s 13-year-old daughter, sexually assaulted her, and held her hostage until the police came to his home at 8 am the following Sunday.
