It's July 17th, 2016, and El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico is a few hours away from performing at one of the largest, Latin music festivals in the world the Newark Peruvian festival! The time is 7:42 pm the setting is the Lobby at Robert Treat Hotel. Concert photographer, Adrian Montanez is sitting across from his friend of many years, Legendary Percussionist Richie Bastar. The members of El Gran Combo are starting to make their way to the lobby and concert time is approaching! In this interview, Richie Bastar remembers his early years, memories of his father the Late Kako, Pete El Conde Rodriguez, traveling to Africa, years with El Conjunto Classico, and El Gran Combo De Puerto Rico!
