The church is the people who worship God. It is not the building and it is not what we do that comprise the church. We are the church. But the church is made up of flawed people with basic needs that we often - knowingly and unknowingly - seek to meet in ungodly ways. When we seek to meet these needs - needs such as emotional safety, belongingness, and esteem - in ungodly ways, we scar the church.
