Hello Pups and Kittens and welcome back to The Groomer Next Door. This week we have a very special guest. Let me introduce you all to Ari Cohen.
About this project
Ace of Hearts is a dog rescue charity based in Los Angeles, California that rescues hundreds of dogs every year. Kari Whitman founded Ace of Hearts in 1999 with a mission to bring about real change in the way dogs are treated in the county. Kari and her team say that Ace of Hearts can make a much greater impact in the euthanasia rate by being politically and legally active as well.
They worked vigorously to help get the mandatory spay and neuter law passed in Los Angeles County in 2008. However, the organization’s activism continues, as Kari doesn’t believe that the county is adequately enforcing the law to make a meaningful difference in the euthanasia rate. Los Angeles County euthanized over 14,000 shelter dogs in 2015. We do not find this to be something at should be tolerated in our society.
This documentary will cover the state of dog euthanasia in Los Angeles, how the mandatory spay and neuter law was passed in 2008, how the law in currently being enforced, and what additional steps need to be taken to make a true positive impact in the euthanasia rate.
By supporting our campaign, you will be partnering with us to help spread awareness about the state of euthanasia in Los Angeles County as well as educating people and lawmakers on what additional steps need to be taken to make Los Angeles a no kill county.
Please see our rewards thank you so much for your time!
