Tamika L’Ecluse and I chat about why she chose to run for office; how she plans to assist the diverse social and economical diversity that comprises District 5 of Sacramento City; how Emerge California prepared her to run for office; why Sacramento, and our society at large, is ready for change in who represents us in office; the misogyny that female candidates often face, especially with the anonymity that social media grants people to be negative; how her grandmother and mother influenced her lifetime to commitment to community involvement; how she found her place in life by serving others in need; how she learned to be resilient while her single parent was deployed while serving in the military; and the strangeness of finding family later in life.
