On the last episode of 3GT, the guys discussed the doctrine of perseverance as treated by the Synod of Dort. But they did not discuss one important issue related to it. What about all the scriptural warnings to the church about falling away from Christ? If people in the church can fall away, does that not nullify the Reformed understanding of perseverance?

So the guys tackle this paradox. They look at the Scriptures where the warnings are contained. They show the place of warnings in the life of the elect. How the warnings reveal what is in people’s hearts is discussed. The place of the will with respect to warnings is also treated.

As the Westminster Confession says, a true Christian will “tremble at the threatening.” So be duly warned by tuning into this episode of 3GT!
