On October 24th 1901 schoolteacher Annie Edson Taylor celebrated her 63rd birthday by becoming the first person to survive going over Niagara Falls in a barrel, yes, OVER NIAGARA FALLS IN A BARREL! Why? Was she bored? Was she a natural born daredevil? Was she insane? I don't know, but I know someone who will know!!
Patrick Sirianni is a native of Niagara Falls Ontario and has become quite the historian of this amazing region, as well as being the official Town Crier of Niagara Falls. He also runs the amazing Facebook group Niagara History and Trivia (all lovers of history need to join this group!!)
Patrick joins us for the first, but defiantly not the last time to discuss this amazing woman, why she did what she did, and how her stunt led to so many copycats, not always as successful.
So kick back, enjoy and please rate and share the show..let's keep the audience growing. Thank you all
