A lot of attention goes to Chevy Chase and the yuletide foibles of Clark Griswold in this 1989 holiday classic, but our favorite part of "Christmas Vacation" is of course Diane Ladd in those glasses as Clark's doting mother Nora. And we have to recognize Best Supporting Beverly D'Angelo as the occasionally absurd Ellen, Queen Mae Questel as Aunt Bethany, and honestly, Randy Quaid's pitch perfect embodiment of Cousin Eddie. We also swoon for Todd and Margo's house, Mavis Staples' title song, John Randolph's big dad energy, the mere presence of Juliette Lewis and the layers of nostalgia that come with this slightly filthy and surprisingly heartwarming movie.
