In the future, your access to secure areas may depend not on a password or fingerprint – but your brain. Researchers at Binghamton University in New York have developed a way to verify a person by measuring the brain’s response to certain stimuli. The team is reporting up to 100% accuracy with the technology, known as Brainprint. A problem for most widely used biometrics is that they are noncancelleable. For example, if fingerprint or iris images are stolen they cannot be changed. In this study, a Brainprint can be reset by periodically changing the stimuli.
