Charles Officer is a Canadian filmmaker, writer, director and occasional actor. He has directed episodes of many series including 21 Thunder, Saving Hope and Rookie Blue. His first film was superb Canadian feature Nurse. Fighter. Boy. Since then he has made the transition to documentaries with Mighty Jerome, The Skin We’re In, and Unarmed Verses. His latest is Invisible Essence: The Little Prince, which examines St. Expury’s classic tale through a contemporary lens and features interviews with luminaries including Adam Gopnik, Mark Osborne, Rupi Kaur, and the author’s nephew and great-nephew. Officer also interweaves the story of a modern-day Little Prince… a seven year-old blind Pakistani-Canadian boy. The film is in theatres now.
