Cindy Baker stopped by for episode 157. Cindy Baker is a multi-faceted journalist who has worked in the Sacramento region for over 10 years. During that time, Baker worked for such outlets as Capitol Weekly, Sacramento News & Review, Comstock’s Magazine, and NewsRadio KFBK. After hosting her own online show, “Ransacked” since 2013, she’s launched a successful podcast with Fox 40 about the Golden State Killer (and this was prior the arrest of the suspected killer), and is currently the Executive Producer for “Look West”, a podcast that gives a glimpse about the real lives of the California Assembly Democrats.
In this episode, Cindy Baker and I chat about what drover her to start podcasting; the similarities between a bacon-off and a magic-off; what she learned after being fired from a journalism job; how podcasting saved her during a difficult time in her life; why it is important to hear “the gravel crunching under your feet” when producing a podcast; why journalists are moving into the political realm; why she says journalism is “coming out of my guts”; the inspiration she gets from the women that came before her to live the life she wants; and why society would be better if we all watched Vanderpump Rules.
Thank you for listening, Listeners, and thank you for sharing, Sharers, to my conversation with Cindy Baker.
