Biden is president. Trump supporters are scattered. Many are breathing easy now that the worst is behind us.

Or is it? History reveals that massive religious movements emerge from failed prophecies. And vast political movements from failed coup attempts. Trump's political ascendancy resulted from him pulling taboo levers...levers that are still in place. Unless we hold him and other political leaders accountable, they will learn that the path of neofascism is a great way to rile a base without consequence.

As weary as many of us are, now is the time for vigilance. Our troubles haven't gone away; they are just is disarray. And our hopes are too important to place in the hands of Joe Biden and walk away.
