Following the tragic death of Sarah Everard and all the events that followed there has been a spotlight shone on the continued sexual assault and violence against women. Official figures indicate that 97% of women between the ages of 18 and 24 have been sexually assaulted while prosecutions for rape are at an all time low. In Episode 16 we explore the media response to this recent tragedy, delve into some of the experiences of our female panelists, discuss what needs to change in order to support women and how to hold to account male perpetrators in order to increase the confidence women have in their own safety.
