Today we’re chatting with Jalen Smereck, a hockey player on the AHL Tucson Roadrunners who has partnered with his team to auction off his 2019-20 game worn jersey to benefit youth hockey in his home community in Detroit. We discuss how the initiative came about, the Detroit Hockey Dreams Youth Hockey Association, what Jalen is working on to benefit his community, and what projects and outreach he'd like to see on and off the ice to grow hockey into a more diverse and inclusive sport.
