Episode 16: Knee Edition — Vol. 1, Issue 3

Listen Later

Today's knee edition covers four important studies examining different aspects of knee surgery outcomes and access to care. We discuss patient satisfaction trajectories after total knee arthroplasty, revealing that one-third of initially satisfied patients become dissatisfied by twelve months. We examine insurance-based disparities in pediatric patellar dislocation surgery timing and their impact on treatment options. We review current evidence on DAIR technique success rates for periprosthetic joint infections, highlighting the importance of timing and pathogen identification. Finally, we present five-year outcomes data for unicompartmental knee arthroplasty showing excellent survivorship and patient satisfaction when properly indicated.
