This week’s episode is a book review of what might be my new BFF…not really, but it’s a close. When I say I couldn’t put this book down, I couldn’t put this book down! So what book am I talking about on today’s episode? Great question! The book is: The Coaching Habit: Sat Less, Ask More + Change the Way You Lead Forever. The author, Michael Bungay Stanier teaches seven questions that create an efficient dialogue between you and someone else, to truly create a larger impact and yet leave you without a ton of things added to your own to-do list!
I don’t know about you, but life as an educator can be tough! And if you’re an educator that is a people-pleaser, ohh don’t get me started! As a graduated people-pleaser, I love this book because not only does it provide tangible steps to take to coach others, it does so in a way that no only leaves you feeling productive and influential, but it allows the person you are coaching to be empowered and courageous! Isn’t that the best of both worlds?!
This episodes goes through the two parts of the book, and highlights the seven questions, that lead to an effective coaching session. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the best part! The coaching happens in 10 minutes or less! Sign me up!
I hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as I loved recording it for you!
