When the DJ and producer Lotic first moved to Berlin from their native Texas in 2012, they found a scene that wasn't quite fitting their needs. Since then, Lotic and other expats – such as Janus party/label co-founders Michael Ladner and Dan DeNorch – have been instrumental in carving out a more radical and experimental space in the city's nightlife. In its chaotic and novel energy, Lotic's 2015 EP released via Tri Angle, Heterocetera, left an indelible mark on the Berlin club scene.
