Song Surfing features the best in independent music!
On this edition of Song Surfing with Friends, John is joined by Sophie Janna.
Sophie is a songwriter from the Netherlands who started her musical career singing traditional folk songs. With her duo The Lasses she's been singing these old folk songs all over the world. Because of a serious illness of her co-musician in The Lasses, she has been focusing on her solo career during the pandemic, but she hopes to be able to play as a duo again soon! Sophie and John talked about connecting with other musicians at Irish sessions in Amsterdam, writing music collaboratively in the duo The Lasses, and about her songwriting process. Sophie also brought in some remarkable tunes to play for the song surfers.
This edition of Song Surfing with Friends features the music of The Lasses & Kathryn Claire, Paul McKenna, Marianne’s Daughters, Job Alone, and Victor Lacken.
Sophie’s duo The Lasses was first featured Song Surfing Episode 1.
