In this episode, Debbie sits down with Bruce Bromley from SDA CONSULTING AUSTRALIA. Bruce may be considered as one of the founding fathers of the disability industry, in the creation and implementation of the design guidelines and SDA assessment since the early days of SDA.  He discusses his journey into the accessibility and SDA sector and what his companies does do.

Bruce tells us what SDA Consulting Australia does, and discusses the training, education and information they disseminate to the industry. Bruce also tells us his views of where the SDA sector is and should be heading and talks about his advocacy of various aspects, particularly around Robust design and Fire safety.

The discussion centres around the ideal requirements for Robust design and the failings of the current design standards and new pricing review income levels to ensure suitable development of Robust properties. Bruce also tells us his thoughts on the importance of Fire Safety in building and SDA guidelines and what classification buildings might need to be to include fire sprinklers, along with any clarification on mandatory requirements in the future.
