Waak, waaak, Bat-fans!
In this week’s episode of The Batman Universe Podcast, hosts Scott and BJ dive into everything Oswald Cobblepot! Naturally, they kick things off with that explosive, dark, and gripping teaser trailer for MAX’s The Penguin show. If you haven’t seen the teaser trailer yet, watch it here:

Unrelated to Penguin, Scott and BJ do touch upon that WonderCon McFarlane Toys news, namely those amazing-looking Batman Forever action figures.

With the Oscars moment between Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, and Arnold Schwarzenegger lighting up Batman and comic book social media a week ago, it begs a certain question from us at TheBatmanUniverse.net. Episode 252: How Has Batman Fared at The Oscars?



 
Released in 1987, Batman: Year One by Frank Miller and David Mazzuchelli is arguably one of the most famous Batman stories ever printed. It has frequently been cited as a source of inspiration for films like Batman Begins and The Batman, as well as other media adaptations.
With the Joker: Year One storyline having just been released, TBU hosts Scott, BJ, and Adil revisit Batman: Year One, both the comic book and its cinematic adaptation from 2011.  They discuss likes and dislikes from the point, examining the narrative from a fresh perspective that can only be found on the TBU Podcast!

Episode 251: Revisiting the Batman: Year One Comic & Adaptation



 
It’s the 250th episode of The Batman Universe Podcast! What a milestone! In this episode’s forecast… a FREEEEEEEZE is coming! Hosts Scott and BJ get an important newsworthy item out of the way, and then the rest of this landmark episode is spent diving into Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin, a cinematic experience of the senses that ended a film franchise that began in 1989. Though a proposed sequel was immediately canceled after Batman & Robin‘s debut, this misfortune cleared the way for Christopher Nolan to come in with his own trilogy nearly 8 years later.
Ready your ice puns! Dress up in your finest purple gorilla suits. We’re about to subject ourselves (in Scott’s case, more than once) to a film that, over 25 years later, is getting a new lease on life. I mean, look at the glorious McFarlane Batman & Robin figures, OK?!

In this episode of The Batman Universe Podcast, host Scott chats with artist and special guest Ian Miller (not to be confused with TBU Comic Podcast cohost and staff writer Ian Miller). Ian is one of the creators of Batman Enigma, a fan comic that gained much acclaim and notoriety, as it picked up story threads left over from Batman Returns, as well as rumored castings for the unmade third film in the Burtonverse. While Batman Enigma is complete (and available to read – links below), Ian and team have set their sights on other unmade film projects – the Snyderverse!
