It’s Thanksgiving in the Nix house… and this year? It looks a little different.

A surprise family guest shows up, the great silent-volume debate makes an appearance (how loud is “quiet,” exactly?), and I’m trying to figure out how to grow into a new space while making traditions of my own.

The kids might cook with me… which is either adorable or mildly terrifying. I also face the sad, humbling truth that I am now the undefeated baked-mac champion by default because I moved states and left all my competition behind. 🤣

We talk nostalgia, missing familiar faces, building new memories, and the wild realization that the Elf on the Shelf is about to clock in for another year of seasonal employment.
