Podcast summary:
This week, Minister Miller subject is: “Better Is Coming”. Minister Miller will be teaching out of the book of Isaiah and he elaborated on the relationship between God and King Hezekiah and how during his grave illness, that he never lost faith in God, even as the Prophet Isaiah advised him to get his house in order, that he shall die and not live.
The context of this lesson generally speaks to the importance of having a close and personal relationship with God and why we must understand it’s importance, even as we face grave situation of peril and death, or the terrible trials they project in our lives—similar to those resulting from coronavirus pandemic and other serious calamities. Throughout it all, and over all else, we must always trust in our relationship with God even if the news we receive comes directly from a prophet or through other trusted servants of God.
- Psalms 146:3) Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is not help; 4) His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish; and 5) Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God…KJV
- Such as that, which explains that God’s word is first and foremost. That man, regardless of whom he or she may be or what title they may hold, can only advise and has not the power to save. So, even as God has given us priest, preachers, elders, evangelist, and prophets… we must first understand that it is critical for us to turn to God in all things, as servants have not the power to save, amen.
- Again, Minister Miller’s lesson emphasized that God must always be our priority, and in all respects, it is for us to seek clarity and confirmation of His Word. He then expressed again that clarity will only come from spending time with God and that this is the only way for anyone to build their faith and comprehend God's Word.
- He then briefly touched on how our world is gravely distracted and that this has caused many of us to lose our focus on building a spiritual relationship that bears the fruit of glory. Because of this, each of us have suffered a great setback and Minister Miller then shared his belief along these lines, that this current setback, the coronavirus, has emerged so that we can wisely use our time to stay before God, learn His Word and spiritually align ourself in fellowship with Jesus.
- Time, as Minister Miller explains, helps us to build a close relationship with God, to strengthen the bonds by meeting God on the alter and in prayer and that prior to the pandemic this was almost impossible due to the demands that life and culture has placed on us.
- Minister Miller then exemplifies this through his own experiences. That over the course of two years, how God convicted him to build a relationship with Jesus and that God prepped him for the trials that would change his life forever.
- Staying aligned with the scriptures, Minister Miller juxtaposed the evidence of his own experiences and those of King Hezekiah’s. Exemplifying Hezekiah actions to turn his head to the wall and pray while on his sickbed. Although there were dissimilarities evident in the two comparisons, they were also strikingly similar in context, by how both King Hezekiah and Minister Miller reached for faith and turned to prayer for comfort and deliverance.
- Minister Miller was humbled by God and even though the Prophet Isaiah proffered a much different message to King Hezekiah, Hezekiah too, was humbled in his actions and choosed to believe in his personal relationship and to trust in his faith, that God would answer him and grant to him what he prayed for, to live and not die.
- King Hezekiah solidified his belief and sought out God rather than the word of Prophet Isaiah and this was profoundly expressed by Minister Miller and in doing so, he explains the scriptures that was given to Prophet Isaiah which King Hezekiah requested, and the Lord heard his prayer and add fifteen years to his days.
- This is where Minister Miller explained that God is listening to us, that ‘better is coming’ and again, how important it is for us to remain in faith, that God will bring us out of the things that hinders or deprives us. But we have to chose to exercise our faith; to stay in position; to stay on the wall; to know and believe that better is coming, and in doing so, we will see the benefits of our labors; the rewards of our faith; the blessing of our God; and the abundance thereof, amen!
- Prayer was then proffered by: Prophetess Maxine of Richmond, VA and Evangelist Miller of Chesapeake, VA.
