Our character often dictates our actions. The mental, moral, and spiritual qualities that we hold dear directly impact our choices.

Over the next several episodes, we will explore the Sermon on the Mount and look at how we can align our lives and character to what the word of God sets forth for us.

In 1937 Dietrich Bonhoeffer released a book in titled "The Cost of Discipleship." The book is centered around the Sermon on the Mount and breaks down the many character traits that should be displayed in the lives of believers.

He begins the book by examining the difference between cheap and costly grace. As we begin our study of the Sermon on the Mount, we will also begin with this topic. Our understanding of God's grace is essential if we ever want to live out the character God has called us to.
