Dr. Jason Pittman is an Associate Professor of Computer Science with the Webb School of Engineering at High Point University. In this interview, he shares his professional path (which includes work in the film industry and with tech start-ups before diving into academia) and describes his work to establish a world-class cybersecurity facility at HPU (known as CELF - Cybersecurity and Engineering Learning Facility). The CELF lab provides a unique “ecosystem” of sorts (which he and his colleagues refer to as a “phenomenarium”) that provides students with hands-on learning opportunities that challenge them to “think on their feet”, employing critical thinking skills to solve complex and ever-changing challenges to cybersecurity.
