Episode 17: Ryan Richardson on Finding Your Calling

Listen Later

I go way back with my guest today. We’ve been friends since the 8th grade, we graduated from the same high school class, played on the same football team, but where I became an entrepreneur he’s on the road to priesthood. It just goes to show how your paths can change as you age, but you may be surprised how much we still have in common. But what does Brother Ryan have to bring to the table for us business-minded people? Easy – he’s a trailblazer who knows what it’s like to take a risk at pursuing your calling and seeking the happiness that can come from a fulfilling career.
When I ask Ryan what it’s like to follow a calling as specific as priesthood, he says, “The biggest fear is – can I really do this?” How many of us share that sentiment? The vulnerability that comes with pursuing an exciting yet unsure professional path can be terrifying, but you can’t let that stop you from chasing down what’s yours. Finding and following a calling that brings you success and happiness is what we all strive for, and Brother Ryan has quite a few insightful anecdotes that may make your path easier to walk. Tune in for my and Ryan’s thoughts on:

Recognizing your professional calling
How to pursue your purpose and stick with it despite the distractions
Using your natural talents to influence your professional calling
What vulnerability means when it comes to pursuing your calling
How happiness makes a difference in your professional career
How to be honest with yourself and your purpose

If you want to get in touch with Brother Ryan, he’s always answering email. Shoot a message to [email protected] if you have questions about your own professional calling. And for more information on the Legionaires of Christ, visit their website at www.regnumchristi.org
