When we are young, we can be given a playbook to follow. Whether directly or indirectly, we can be told that if we just did everything a certain way, such as living the same life your parents did, that you will get the outcome you desire. Maybe something like having a loving family or a specific dream job.

But as we all know, life is anything but fair. No matter how much you prepare yourself to get a certain outcome, inevitably, something can happen that can throw your long-term plans out the window.
