August 31st - such a pivotal day in the year. It's the last day of summer in the northern hemisphere and the last day of winter in the southern hemisphere. It's also the day I decided to make the third edition in the Recovery series. I was going to release it at the end of World Pride 2023 in Sydney and then changed my mind to the end of Mardi Gras 2023. When that didn't happen I thought I'd get to it for the end of Pride month (June) and finally I thought, fuck it, I'll release for the end of summer. Both sides of the equator could do with a recovery. As with previous editions, this set sits at a lower BPM and isn't meant to be as high energy as the monthly editions of UP! It's designed to pop on either before you head out or more specifically when you get home and want to have a social get together where you can still dance without having a heart attack or just chill with friends. The set has a mixture of current charting artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles and Sam Smith mixed in with classic artists such as Whitney Houston, Paula Abdul, Cathy Dennis, Sabrina Johnston and The Human League. There is a nice spread of remixers used here but I have to give a shout out to Division 4 and Dirty Disco for their continued generosity in providing me with their outstanding mixes. Whether you're gearing UP! before going out or gearing down when you get home, Recovery 3 should provide you with all of your musical nourishment. Enjoy
