Produced by http://Fastpitch.TV - This week I am bringing you part 2 of Kim Dunlop-Borders Fastpitch Softball pitching clinic. Kim gave this clinic at Softball Con.
http://SoftballJunk.com is a great resource to find fastpitch softball bats!
Coach Kim Dunlop-Borders continues her clinic on proper pitching mechanics! Softball coach Kim preaches the importance of having result based workouts! When pitchers have drills or practices that that fastpitch softball pitcher can immediately see whether the pitch did what they were aiming for then that can be most beneficial in correcting mistakes immediately. In practices Kim also puts the pitcher in pressure situations so that if the pitcher misses a target or makes a mistake then the entire team gets to have a punishment drill of running or push-ups ect.. With these pressure situations that pitcher will become more accustomed to the pressures of real fastpitch softball games!
With pitch placement, in targeting inside or outside pitches a pitcher should make adjustments with her foot placements and lead with her foot. With working on higher or lower pitches a pitcher must mentally adjust where she originally wanted to place her target and then her hand will automatically adjust with where and when to release the ball.
