Darren Weale interviews Billy Murdoch about the Orpington Repair Cafe, which is held at St Mary's Church in Green Street Green on the 3rd Saturday of every month. The resident repair specialists fix a range of electrical, mechanical, and other items for a donation (and payment for parts, if required) on the spot. In that way, they prolong the life of many items and people are less likely to buy replacements. The Cafe welcomes both the pubic with items which need to be repaired, and volunteers who may be able to assist with repairs.
