The first-time meeting Lindsay there was this energy between us and I can't tell you how excited I am that she is joining us here on the Sharing the manual podcast. We are talking about values, truly listening, and how to connect our brains and our mind.
Lindsay Harle-Kadatz is known as the Values Vixen (that…and a quirky human). As a leadership team brand and mindset consultant, she supports leaders who want to have an immediate and lasting impact on their people - and it starts with values. Values are the tasty mental prune juice that teams need to create a culture of flow, enthusiasm and joy to produce better-quality bottom-line results. A Neuro Change Method™️ Master Certified Practitioner, branding specialist, and ever-learning listening student & facilitator, she uses a different lens for connecting values to actions that matter to gain real traction in business (and life). For Lindsay, breathing life into a team goes beyond a pretty branding document with captivatingly clever statements. It goes to the core of engaging individual beliefs and accountability. It goes to the core of being human.
Before we jump into your nuggets of wisdom Lindsay shares the story behind her heart for what she does and how she shows up. Give a listen you will love this amazing human. She says:
1) Values are not fluffy marketing statements. They are the underlying beliefs upon which we take action. So - are your actions aligned with your values? You can tell in a few ways (flow, experiences, stories, natural state), whether or not they're junk values (Johann Hari), and whether or not you're intrinsically motivated by them when challenges present themselves
2) Listening saves lives. When we take the time to deeply listen without judgment or expectation, we
i) create opportunities for people to choose to start healing on their journey, and
ii) create opportunities for us to be more connected and aware of what listening means in our body, as a process and practiced skill.
3) The brain and the mind must connect for there to be long-lasting sustainable change (in other words - how we change our behaviour/habits/ways of being).
Love what Lindsay shared with me: the story from within this: values save lives; people when heard hold themselves accountable; we can only create real change when everything is in full alignment. There are lots of poop analogies, neuron analogies, and really bad puns. It's a story for the awkwardly weird to embrace and be embraced.
