In this episode, I talk with Nia Obotette, author of "I am a Triathlete". Nia was inspired to write this book when she could not find a book that reflected an African American Woman's perspective and experience in the sport of Triathlon. She wrote this book to encourage her niece and other African-American girls to dream big and go beyond their perspectives and limitations based on society's views of how African-American girls are portrayed; or lack thereof.
