You've read her amazing blog " Keep The Tail Wagging" Let's get to know Kimberly a bit before she joins us this week.
Biography
I was born to love dogs and today, I'm having a blast living with my pack, feeding a raw diet, and sharing and learning from others in our community. My Keep the Tail Wagging® journey started a few years before the blog was launched. In May 2010, we brought home two littermate puppies and for two years I struggled to figure out Rodrigo's health issues. When Rodrigo and Sydney were three, I switched them to raw after months of research and I've never looked back. Raw feeding was complicated to figure out. There is a ton of information, differing opinions, and aggressive attitudes in the communities. I launched Keep the Tail Wagging® in December 2011 to write about dogs. I changed the focus to raw feeding in April 2014 because if I had trouble figuring out raw, I was certain others did as well. Now I'm focused on helping others feed their dogs better while being a positive voice in the raw feeding community.

Keep the Tail Wagging® is a blog about the BARF model of raw feeding, dog supplements and raising littermates. Raw Feeding: When I started feeding raw, I quickly learned that there's more to it than giving our dogs a whole chicken. It involves creating a balanced diet, choosing the right supplements, and finding safe, humane sources for the proteins. I love doing the homework and enjoy sharing what I learn with other dog owners. My goal isn't to pressure others into changing their dog's diet; instead, I want to share an alternative for those who are interested. Raising Littermates: When we made the decision to bring home 2 puppies, I learned that many people felt that it was a terrible idea and a few people were cruelly vocal about their opinion. Today, we have 2 sets of happy, healthy littermates and I like to share our choices that lead to these great dogs while encouraging dog training. We must give our dogs the gift of dog training.

A Novice's Guide to Raw Feeding for Dogs Paperback
by Kimberly Morris Gauthier (Author)

4% of the pet lover population feed their dog or cat a raw food diet because it's species appropriate. Kimberly Gauthier, Dog Nutrition Blogger for Keep the Tail Wagging®, is sharing her experience as a raw feeder, including how feeding a species appropriate diet to her dogs cured allergies, digestive issues, joint issues, chronic ear infections, yeast infections, some behavior issues, and more. Five years ago, a veterinarian told Kimberly that one of her dogs, Rodrigo, would live a short life. Today, Rodrigo is a happy, active, healthy dog and his health issues are in the past. Rodrigo used to go to the vet every other month, today, he goes annually for a check up. Imagine the money saved. Kimberly is raising four dogs on a raw food diet, treating any health issues that come up naturally and through nutrition with the help of two local holistic veterinarians. Raw feeding is becoming more mainstream as pet owners are looking for a healthy alternative to kibble and canned pet food. A Novice's Guide to Raw Feeding for Dogs is a great introduction to a species appropriate diet that is changing dogs' lives.

Why Raw is Better for Dogs!
There is a worrisome pattern I have noticed with many people who have dogs. They know that healthy foods are better for us (the humans), and yet they feed their dogs processed food. And though many people point to the obvious difference between a dog and a human, the fact remains that healthy is healthy.  Something that could clog your veins because it’s processed and full of hidden ingredients has the potential to do the same to your pet.
