More than 1.1 million people in the United States are living with HIV infection, and almost 1 in 6 (15.8%) are unaware of their infection. Source

The confusion on the episode comes from this shitty infographic from aids.gov because they separate the statistic with a giant image that breaks up the text. And here are the stupid conspiracy theories about the origin of AIDS if you’re in the mood for reading bullshit.
