Fear of the Lord = Awe, Wonder, Respect, Reverence. In the English translation of the Latin Hymn "Adoro Te Devote," the last line of the first verse is "Lost, all lost in wonder at the God Thou art." Fear of the Lord is this tremendous reverence and wonder at the power and greatness of Our God. We also began a discussion on the Gospel passage of the Good Samaritan - how important it is to bring God to others, that is, by showing mercy and compassion to all, perhaps even just a simple smile can save a life.
