After Nehemiah, led the people to rebuild the wall in Jerusalem, he returned to the King in Babylon. While he was away, the people relapsed into their old habitual sins and once again turned to idol worship, the priests became corrupt, the people ignored the Sabbath rest and they intermarried with foreigner who brought their pagan worship practices with them.
