The Stanford Prison Experiment was a psychological experiment that was conducted on the study of power and power struggles in a prison setting. Started in the basement of a Jordan Hall on the campus of Stanford University, the experiment placed random male student volunteers in various prison roles and “set them loose” to find out how power and authority is naturally distributed.
