In today’s episode, we share more tips for occupational therapy students. We discuss two components of occupational therapy treatment; task analysis and collaboration. We recommend tips for developing and strengthening your task analysis skills. Occupational therapists use task analysis to break down a task/activity/goal in a way that helps us develop an effective treatment plan. This may include working on a specific task (toothbrushing) or the performance areas required for the task (standing balance, bilateral coordination, sequencing etc). We also discuss the importance of collaboration. Collaboration with the client, caregiver, teacher, parent is key for carryover of techniques and recommendations following your treatment sessions; which is so important for improved outcomes. For our momma segment today, we share what we do in our home to prepare our little one’s for flu season.
